Winter is coming

I woke up this morning and saw something that I didn't really want to see... my breath! Yeah, that means that it was freezing, and it was.
This all started because Steve, my roommate, wanted to save money on electricity and also wanted to see who would give in to the shivers. Well, we all know who that was... and it wasn't me.... but it wasn't Steve either. It was actually one of my good friends, Joby. He had stopped by after college and noticed that it was colder in my apartment then outside. It was weird, but true. So knowing that I wouldn't lose the bet by having Joby turn them on, I had no objection to him doing it. My roommate didn't even notice, well, until he came back after work. He said it was so hot he had to open up a window.
So right now, as I tell you this story, it is toasty warm in my apartment, and I am loving every feeling of it! I just hope that Joby can stop by more often... if you know what I mean.

Driving and fiddling

10 hours in the car is a long time, but worth it when your destination in Cali. Well for this trip anyway. This last weekend, I went with several of my friends to one of their fiddle contests. And let me say, I don't think I could ever get sick of it, at least for a while. This was my second fiddle contest and it was just as fun as the first one I went to. Not as big, but still a lot of fun. They all did very well too. A friend of there’s and of mine also came a long and did well. It definitely makes me to want to learn fiddle, and other instruments. There were some amazing fiddle players there, including the Clarridges. If you don't know who I am talking about, let me just say that they are amazing. Apart from the fiddling, we also had fun just hanging out.
We made coffee runs, played some football, threw the Frisbee around, and the weather was awesome! That Sunday the family that I went with had a concert at a church. Let me tell you that I enjoy their concerts more then I enjoy fiddling contests, and I really enjoy fiddling contests. They are just so much fun to listen to. I don't think I could ever get sick of their music. They're that good. And they're just a great family.
After the concert, we went straight home, with a few stops. A couple coffee stops, food stops, and a stop at Lake Shasta, which is a whole other story... anyway the trip home was fun and everything went well. I am glad that I decided to go on this trip!
By the way, the family that I am talking about has a web page... you should check it out! http://www.voetbergfamily.com/
